One of my very first attempts at doing something with oil painting. This was in 2008. I like the blending with oils, but I end up painting myself more than the canvas. A very messy medium to work with. For me at least :)
We went for a walk. I should have put Arwen's raincoat on as it got worse as we went. By the end she was pulling me home :)
The first time I tried pastels was in 2006.
I didn't like my first results, but I keep practicing.
"Foxy" was sold this weekend at the AHA Exhibition. He will be heading to BC as a Christmas present :)
AHA is having their Fall Exhibition this coming weekend (October 18-19-20). I have entered six of my pieces.
The colors this year are amazing and photos never do them justice. Unfortunately the wind is blowing the leaves off the trees at an amazing rate, so I thought I would take a photo to preserve what is left on the trees outside the barn window.
I have a few of my pieces hanging at our local café (8 scratchboards in total, and 2 pastels). Not all shown.
It was a little chilly walking with Arwen early this morning. There was a fog lifting on the river and a few ducks trying to swim, but the only thing to break the morning silence was gunshots...the hunters were out :(
A scratcher and a dabbler in the arts...
